About Me
I am a positive, knowledgeable and thoughtful consultant in my practice enjoying a real estate career.... working with people creating real estate opportunities and solving real estate challenges.
My Background
I arrived on the planet in Louisville and am an original baby boomer. I grew up in the Highlands going to St Agnes and then to St Raphael Elementary Schools and then to St Xavier High School where I was the captain of the football team. With a full football scholarship in hand, I attended the University of Dayton where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.
My business career began with computer programming positions in information technology moving up to project management of large-scale system installations over a 12 year period. After several relocations I moved my family to Oregon where I began the financial management chapter of my career as the CFO for Mt Hood Meadows Ski Resort and then as Finance Director for a public electric and water utility. Following that I developed my own Information Technology consulting practice and in 1999 I accepted a position with Humana as Project Director where I spent several years prior to obtaining my Real Estate license.
My Real Estate Practice
My Real Estate consulting career began in 2003. My first partial year found success with $2.5 million in sales. Over the past 10 years I have focused on building a broad real estate practice including commercial property, assisting business people in solving their Real Estate challenges. As past President of the Kentucky Real Estate Exchangers, Inc. (KREE) I am actively involved in advancing the art of Real Estate consulting. Finally, I broker residential property for clients and am a boutique Property Manager for a few rental units both personal and for clients.
To continue to enhance myself in the dynamic real estate profession I have accomplished the following: In June of 2009 I was awarded my Kentucky Real Estate Broker License. In August of 2010 I was awarded my Indiana Real Estate Broker License. In August of 2011 completed CCIM’s training on financial analysis for commercial property. In January 2012 my own full service real estate firm where I do business as “The Day Home Team” In December 2013 I received the “Most Creative Transaction” award from KREE.
My Family
My wife and I have 5 children with thirteen wonderful grandchildren; the latest Thorpe arrived 10/11/2012. A happy little one who loves his Grandmother. We live in the Smithfield neighborhood in Northeast Louisville and enjoy reading and the outdoors including tennis, walking, sailing, golf, skiing and hiking.
